THEY DWELL IN BANANA REPUBLIC

THEY DWELL IN BANANA REPUBLIC

They dwell in Banana Republic

And fly up their flags hoisted

In the strength of asherah poles

To entice the innocent souls…

It’s an amalgam of powers

In the crucible of force

And the heavy purse of mammon…

When they have grown

Like Eli the priest and sons

On the hunk of sacrificial lambs

To know the outburst of wrath upon the altar

Not even the howitzers of might

Could defy the omnipresence of sessions…

I have know them in the realms riveted

On their conservatism like the monarchical hearth…

They dwell in Banana Republic

The cypress hearth of innocent souls…

The cypress hearth of innocent souls…
